Fed Up Billy Long and Republicans Face a Huge Test in One of His First Votes in Congress

Billy Long and his new Republican controlled Congress will soon face a huge test that will once again remind Southwest Missouri just how much Billy Long is fed up. Long, who is on record approving the Republicans plan to roll back federal spending to 2008 levels. For those who don't remember back to 2008, considering America's short attention span, was when Pelosi ran Congress and racked up another $450 billion in new federal debt.

When Democrats began spending, they had to make a critical decision to raise the debt ceiling to accommodate the Obama stimulus plan. That debt ceiling is ready to expire as we move dangerously close to $14 trillion. The Republicans will soon face a vote to raise the ceiling. I guess we will see how committed Billy Long and the Republicans are to stop the rising deficit.
