A Springfield, MO Ghost: The Bride Underneath the Bridge at Phelps Grove Park

 

If you are familiar with this blog, I post a few local ghost tales in the month of October to correspond with the Halloween season.

The Route 66 Paranormal Alliance along with KSPR went ghost hunting for a bride who is often seen underneath the bridge at Phelps Grove Park, near Missouri State University. The bridge was the victim of a jealous groom who upset a horse, which caused their carriage to overturn and kill the bride.

Those who claim seeing her, say she lives under the bridge where she was killed. They say they see her in her wedding dress, but she has not face.

It appears light bouncing off the bridge and reflecting a spot on the bridge appears to be the real explanation of the ghost.
