Mudslides in Missouri: Table Rock Lake Homes In Danger of Sliding Into Lake Due to Heavy Rains

The floods may be misery enough for Southwest Missouri, but now mudslides are starting to wreak havoc on the area. The road to Table Rock Lake Damn may be closed for up to two weeks to clean up from mud slides and now homes are in danger of falling into the lake in the Branson area.

KY3 reports:

Two homeowners in the Pointe Royale neighborhood in Branson scrambled to empty their houses because the foundations are exposed. When water on Table Rock Lake receded it pulled soil from the banks with it.

The foundations revealed and decks in heaps. The homeowners are making the best out of a terrible situation.

"Nobody is hurt, we've got half the neighborhood helping us, we got a place to stay," homeowner Jerry Givens said. "I'll probably go to work tomorrow. My wife is a wreck but it's nice to see a 100 neighbors out here helping us."

Congressman Billy Long is now back in Washington DC. There is no evidence he toured the flooded areas or the areas where the mudslides are taking place. One would expect Long would act like a liason between his constituents and FEMA and other government outlets. Rather Long tweeted when he got to Washington he was more worried about his clothes going out of style.

Must be tough to be Congressman Long and have to worry about such trivial issues while peoples' homes are getting ready to fall in the lake in his district.
