Billy Long's Bailout: Long Believes American Tax Payers Should Pay for Foolish People Who Build Homes in Flood Plains

A not so Tea Party move, and by the way, tie
your shoe.
I thought Billy Long was fed up with wasteful spending and bailouts in Washington, DC? I guess not. Billy Long is finally taking action nearly a week late with the floods that hit Southwest Missouri last week. It appears Billy Long believes the federal government should bail out foolish people who build their homes in flood plains or next two large bodies of water.

Everyone knows the risk when they buy homes in places that sit in flood plains. Once again Billy Long shows that he doesn't understand for a free society to be free there has to be self responsibility for one's actions. Federal bailouts are no different whether they are handed to foolish car companies that let the unions dictate their business practices or people who build their homes where water rises quickly. A bailout is a bailout and it appears Long is pushing for a bailout.

Congressman Billy Long says he's glad to hear the news that Governor Jay Nixon has declared Taney, Stone and several other southwest Missouri counties disaster areas following last week's flood. He's not sure when President Obama will respond to the Governor's request for federal disaster relief, or how much funding will become available...

Long says he's been hearing from constituents who are discovering that their flood insurance policies don't cover the contents of their homes and businesses. The State Emergency Management Agency along with representatives from FEMA and the Small Business Administration, will be conducting preliminary damage assessments next week.

Billy Long believes, and correct me if I am wrong, even though he has no enumerated powers given to him in the Constitution for a bailout of flood victims, that it is his job to hold hands with those people who weren't responsible enough to buy flood insurance that covered their needs when they purchased their homes and home owners insurance. Because these people weren't responsible enough to ensure their homes were covered in case of flooding, the American taxpayer is once again going to foot the bill.

And you claim you are Tea Party Mr. Long?

Put Billy Long to the test here. The next time you have a car accident and your car insurance doesn't cover all of your losses, ask Billy for a bailout to cover your losses. There is really no difference. If you didn't buy enough car insurance, it should be nobody's problem but your own.
