Ron Paul 2012: It's Official Ron Paul is Running for President

Ron Paul has announced he will seek the presidency of the United States today. Paul shares the rare distinction as one of the few candidates that isn't running for themselves. Obama, Donald Trump, and Mitt for Brains Romney are clearly running for their own self-promotion. Paul is running to restore the country into a Constitutional Republic.

Sources close to Paul, who is in his 12th term in the House, said he will unveil an exploratory presidential committee, a key step in gearing up for a White House race. He will also unveil the campaign’s leadership team in Iowa, where the first votes of the presidential election will be cast in caucuses next year.

This will be Congressman Paul's third attempt at the presidency, and it will be his most competitive chance yet to win the nomination. The official announcement will be made tomorrow in Iowa.
