Westboro Baptist Church to Protest The Devil Went Down to Georgia and Charlie Daniels Tonight in Branson, MO
One of my favorite country singers will be in Branson, Missouri, tonight playing at the Mansion Theater. Charlie Daniels will bring his band to Branson along with some other undesirables--the protesters of the Westboro Baptist Church. Now I would never even suggest the Westboro Baptist Church doesn't have the right to protest. They do, and it's the First Amendment of the Constitution. I am just not going to agree with the reason they protest.
I guess neither does Charlie Daniels. Daniels recently told County Music Magazine he detests the Westboro Baptist Church.
"When you travel as much as I do, you see some pretty strange sights and tend to catalogue such things as the antics of a bunch of local kooks out to grab some headlines. Unfortunately these despicable sleaze balls are anything but local. They travel all around this nation leaving rage and pain in their wake, all the time claiming to be doing a service to God and assigning everybody but the ones in their motley group to hell."
This has enraged the ugly Westboro Baptist Church. This issued the following press release accusing Daniels of blasphemy.
Tonight's Westboro Baptist Church protest of Charlie Daniels has gotten the attention of some American patriots and Tea Party members, who plan on standing outside in support of American soldiers and Charlie Daniels. BBCW is planning on being the Mansion Theater tonight to observe and protests the ugliness and unforgiving spirit of the Westboro Baptist Church.
Here's a song dedication for the members of the Westboro Baptist Church:
