Congressman Billy Long may Propose National Bozo the Clown Day

At the Joplin Tea Party, Congressman Billy Long brought his attention to one of his personal heroes he looks to for humility. Considering the Tea Party atmosphere, one would expect to hear the names Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine, or John Adams. Long wouldn't have anything of the sort. Here's the excerpt from his Joplin Tea Party speech:

I’ve got a Bozo on the front of my truck—a lot of people say how come you got Bozo on the dash?—that’s to remind me—and I’ve had it on there for years—that’s to remind me not to take myself too seriously. I’m doing your work in D.C., and I was standing right down there last year with ya and I’ll be back down there in a minute…

Rumors are flying in Washington today as Congressman Long is fresh off from lobbyists payoffs to push National Auctioneers Day and National Golf Day, that the clown lobby has approached their favorite Congressman in hopes of recognizing America's most famous clown, Bozo. Joey D'Auria, who took over Bozo's Grand Prize Game from Bob Bell on Chicago's WGN is rumored to be heading up talks with Congressman Long, and it was noted Long headed to Chicago immediately after the Tea Party on Twitter.

Long may be holding out until the Bozo delegation writes a bigger check. Long says he will have no problem providing a four minute speech about why Bozo has been so important in his life, but with the next campaign season around the corner and rumors flying of a Republican challenger who holds the Constitution in higher regard than Bozo the Clown, Long knows he is going to need every dime to convince Southwest Missouri he is still fed up.

On another note, one has to wonder where was Bozo in January, when Congressman Long forgot his humility and the fact he is in Washington to serve all his constituents, as he launched a witch hunt using the FBI to investigate his critics. Obviously, Bozo doesn't offer Long as much humility as Long claims. None the less, it does appear Bozo the Clown Day may be heading to a four minute speech on the House floor providing the clown lobby can come up with the bucks for Congressman Long.
