George W. Bush definitely was the farthest thing from being the best president in history. He wasn't the worse president either. You could call Abraham Lincoln the worse for trampling on states' rights and imprisoning Americans without due process while waging a war that cost America 600,000 lives--a war which Lincoln's intentions were never to free the slaves but to ensure the northern states benefited from the unfair tariffs place on the South.
Then there was Woodrow Wilson who went against the advice of the Founding Fathers and allowed the powerful central bank known as the Federal Reserve creation, as well as the federal income tax under his watch. America was fundamentally changed for the worse with those policies as well. I think Wilson knew exactly how bad he was as he laid dying.
"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.” ~ President Woodrow Wilson ~
Of course, Bush doesn't rank up much higher than these two men. Under his watch, the Patriot Act was passed, which created the American police state. He also expanded the size of government creating the department of the police state known as Homeland Security. Of course, we can thank George W. Bush for the six-year olds who are now getting groped at airports along with Barack Obama. As well, it's clear now the information Bush gave to the American people to justify war with Iraq had its flaws and we will now have men and women in the military stationed in Iraq for decades to come as we continue to nation build without any Constitutional authority. Yes Bush was a bad president.
If you are Donald Trump, and preparing to run for the Presidency under the Republican label, do you alienate Republicans by calling him the worst?
That's exactly what Trump did yesterday in an interview with NY1. "McCain, really, that was almost an impossible situation," said Trump. Bush has been so bad, maybe the worst president in the history of this country. He has been so incompetent, so bad, so evil that I don't think any Republican could have won."
It's his next quote that leads me to believe that Trump will not seek the presidency and this is a publicity stunt to promote "The Donald."
"I think he has a chance to go down as a great president. Now, if he's not a great president, this country is in serious trouble," said Trump.
"I think [Obama's] going to lead through consensus," continued Trump. "It's not going to be just a bull run like Bush did. He just did whatever the hell he wanted. He'd go into a country, attack Iraq, which had nothing to do with the World Trade Center and just do it because he wanted to do it."
Really Mr. Trump? Have you not been paying attention to the news? The Federal Reserve bank lends Qaddafi's central bank $26 billion, and Obama then does whatever the hell he wants without the consent of Congress and with no Constitutional authority and attacks Libya, just because of what? Not to mention, Obama is supporting the rebels with ties to Al Qaeda. Mr. Trump obviously doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.
Reverting back, it seems to me that Trump, being a real estate guy, should know who was a worse president that Bush. Surely those high interest rates and the miserable Jimmy Carter economy wasn't the best of times for anyone during the late 1970s.
Now Trump plans on making his announcement during the season finale of "The Apprentice." This is all about Trump trumping up his ratings, because his praise of Obama, who he has been attacking over his citizenship in recent weeks is going to destroy him with die hard Republicans.
