The Branson Landing now a part of Lake Taneycomo. |
Like how did the city issue building permits for a major shopping center to be built in the White River flood zone known now as Lake Taneycomo. Table Rock Dam was build for one reason--to control flooding, Even with its existence downstream Lake Taneycomo is often the victim, where is where the new Branson Landing stand, close to its banks on a flood plane. Branson is about getting tourists to come, and they obviously overlook important building safety regulations to do that. One day it might cost the city more than this flood is. Let's hope not though.
While not all businesses on the Landing are closed due to flooding, many of the restaurants are as more rain is in the forecast.
Here are other images of flooding near Branson, Missouri on Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo. We still ask why didn't Billy Long take the time to tour the flooded areas of his Congressional district.
