Billy Long Defends John Boehner's Leadership Despite Voting Against it on Budget Deal

Billy Long was at a Tea Party in Joplin yesterday hoping to continue the unhealthy marriage between the Tea Party and the GOP. Long's speech didn't have anything to do with Constitutional wisdom or the inspiration of our Founding Fathers. It had everything to do with a bunch of Bozos in Washington DC, who couldn't come up with $100 billion in promised spending cuts, and one Bozo on the dash of Billy Long's black Ford F150.

Long says he isn't liked by House leadership. I question this. From the Patriot Act to co-sponsoring bills Long doesn't read but places his name on the bill because he is asked to, Long has been a good little pawn for the career politicians in Washington DC. Long's only big vote against John Boehner was against this budget deal to keep the government running. Because Long has no backbone and is your typical people-pleasing, on both sides of the fence political scum, Long goes into a long speech defending Boehner knowing the Tea Party he doesn't even caucus with in Washington is getting impatient with House Republicans.

“If you ask seven different congressmen how much was cut, you’d get seven different answers,” Long told a group of conservative activists at a rally in Joplin this weekend. “They had us in there at 10:30 [on the final night of the negotiations], and it was like a big cheerleading session.”

“I’m not real popular with leadership in Washington about now, but they are popular with me.”

“[T]hat’s what the Tea Party folks and the conservatives need to understand. [Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio] did the very, very best he could do,” he said. “[W]hen you don’t have the Senate, and you don’t have the White House, we can sit here and beat our chest all day … but until we get the Senate and or the White House, and hold the House, the liberals had a record breaking quarter. They’re after our 25 seat majority. We got a lot of seats that are in danger in the House, and we’ve got to get ahold of the Senate and or the White House.”

“If we give up on — if the Republicans give up on leadership, we know what’s coming next, so please bear with us. I’m fighting the fight for you all,” he said.

What will happen next year Mr. Long? Afraid you might be out of a cushy job with government benefits as the Tea Party looks to people with real back bones that are willing to cut $100 billion like you and the rest of those GOP Congress critters promised when you went to Washington, but couldn't because you couldn't even cast a vote against the federally funding of NASCAR teams?

We don't need cheerleading for Boehner right now. His compromise is the reason why Billy Long is having to apologize to voters at a Tea Party. In fact, I think it's time the Tea Party forms their own political party and leave the DeceptiCON RINOs like Long and Boehner behind. Because Billy Long may talk like he is serious about cutting government spending, but when you look at the amendments he voted against in HR1, just like his desire to continue funding NASCAR teams with your tax dollars, Long isn't very serious either. He will lie to the Tea Party in hopes those blind cheers in Joplin who thought his auctioneer chant was cute will lead to votes.
