Brietbart contributor Bob McCarty has spent the last week trying to find the paper trail of whether or not Billy Long lived up to his campaign promise and sold his auction house and his one third share in Murney Associates. Long's office has been reluctant to offer McCarty any insight as to whether or not Long lived up the promise of sacrifice he made to Southwest Missouri voters. Today he received an e-mail from Brett Funk, one of Long's advisors notifying McCarty that Congressman Long was only focused on doing interviews from outlets within the 7th District.
“Apologies Bob, we are initially focusing on our district press for media requests. Please keep us in mind in the future.”
Ironically, on the same day McCarty gets the denied of information note from Funk, the Precision Metal Forming Association talk about the access they got to interview Congressman Long. The Precision Metal Forming Association isn't based in Missouri's Seventh District. It is based in Indpendence, OH, hundreds of miles away from Long's district. Mr. Funk, are you sure you are focused on the Seventh District?
Gretchen Zierick writes of Congressman Long, "That evening we heard from Congressman Billy Long, a freshman from Missouri. Long is quite a character, coming from a career as an auctioneer, and he understands that a big part of his job is to work at reducing the deficit and the size of government."
I ask the question again Mr. Funk, if you denied Bob McCarty from the state of Missouri access to Congressman Long for his story, why did you allow a reporter who writes for the Ohio-based Precision Metal Forming Association access? I guess you don't want to discuss Congressman Long's (broken?) promises to voters, eh?
