It's No Wonder Americans Are Tired of their Government: $352 Million or $45 Billion in Spending Cuts?

I may have my differences with Congressman Billy Long, but I think we both share the same frustration tonight. While I give Long credit for voting against the Boehner compromise, he still seems a bit dishonest about that $100 billion in budget cuts from the Pledge to American promise. (Hey Billy, it may have been more if you had voted against things like federal funding for NASCAR teams.)

Long tweets tonight:

We cut between $352 Million and $45 Billion depending who you believe. #Really? We did not cut the $61 Billion we promised. I voted 'No'.

I like how Long includes himself with the team here despite voting no. I don't think I would claim this as the Tea Party looks on if I were him. It would be "they" if I didn't vote for it. We puts you in the group that passed these measly budget cuts that ensure the GOP will be raising the debt ceiling in a few short days.

None the less, this is another shining example of the lunacy that is the out of control federal government. John Boehner compromises with the Democrats to get $38 billion in spending cuts passed and so the government shuts down. The Republicans in the House, who just voted on the damn thing can't even figure out if they really got what they were promised when the compromised. It's pathetic!

Of course, Long spins it in his own special way ignoring the fact the GOP promised Americans a $100 billion spending cut. That didn't happen because like I said, too many in the GOP weren't serious about cutting spending, just like Long voting to continue federal funding of NASCAR teams.

When you see Congressman Long's tweet it's obvious, John Boehner and the Republicans don't have a clue what they are doing. They walked out last weekend claiming victory with $38 billion in cuts, and today they pass the compromise unsure of what they even got. Seriously, how thrilled can you really be with the GOP after this?

It's really a sad day.
