Bailed Out General Electric to Buy 12,000 35 MPG Overpriced Chevy Volts From Bailed Out General Motors

If you think General Motors received a large bailout, it was nothing to the size of bailout General Electric received. General Electric is ran by Jeffry Immelt, a socialist and good friend of Barack Obama.

In an interesting business deal that feels it's got government fingerprints all over it, bailed out GE is going to purchase 12,000 Chevy Volts from bailed out GM. The Chevy Volt of course is the car that once promised 230 miles per gallon but in tests only has gotten around 35 miles per gallon. It's also the car the United States is subsidizing to encourage consumers to purchase with a $7,500 tax credit to help cut the cost of the overpriced and ugly hybrid. That's right, unlike its name badge suggests, the Volt has a gasoline engine too.

GE said Thursday it will buy 25,000 electric vehicles for its fleet through 2015 in the largest-ever purchase of electric cars.

GE will begin with an initial purchase of 12,000 vehicles from General Motor Co., starting with Chevy Volt in 2011. The conglomerate said it "will add other vehicles as manufacturers expand their electric vehicle profiles."

The first Chevrolet Volt is expected to roll off production lines later this month.

GM confirmed the announcement with CNNMoney.com.

So I guess the question is are taxpayers being used to buy these cars considering all the bailout money between these two giants?
