Just nine days after the election, and the next election seems already in motion, with Long launching his reelection effort and a name coming up in Republican circles of a possible challenge.

The Fuse Joplin writes, "The early staging may be due to the whispering among Republicans unhappy with Long considering giving him a primary challenge. Republican Michael Wardell has been mentioned as one who might challenge Long."
