College Internship Opportunity with Billy "I'm Not a Career Politician" Long: 9 Days After Election and Long Begins Reelection Bid


The following internship opportunity was sent to Missouri State University Students today according to College Democrat President Cam Sullivan. Just nine days after the election, and still in Springfield on the eve of heading to Washington DC for Freshman orientation according to an Axiom Strategy tweet, and it appears Billy Long has already started running for reelection. You know the same guy who said he wasn't a career politician!


Here's the internship opportunity of you are interested:

The Billy Long for Congress Re-elect committee is looking for a hardworking finance intern to join the team beginning in December 2010.

The finance intern will have the opportunity to learn through hands on involvement in the campaign process and will play an important role in the day-to-day finance operation. This internship is intended to provide knowledge, skills, and experience that interns can apply to future challenges and professional pursuits in politics, fundraising and finance.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for conservative, self-motivated students and young people who are willing to work hard, take on responsibility, and contribute ideas to the team. We are looking for candidates that have business or political science majors. Finance majors are a plus.

What you will be doing:

Interns will participate in multiple facets of the campaign process including:

• online political operations
• office management
• community outreach and relations
• fundraising
• research
• political events
• event planning and management
• data management

The internship is unpaid. Students are eligible to receive college credit. Please check with your professor and find out if a “learning contract” is required and we will work with you to assist you in getting a semester’s credit. Interns must be available for at least 15 hours/week for at least 6 weeks). You will be asked to sign a memorandum of confidentiality at the onset of your internship.
