Republican and Veteran Michael Wardell Wants to Know Why Billy Long was AWOL on Veterans Day

Michael Wardell issued the following press release earlier today, which may have more people talking that he may challenge Billy Long in 2012:

Former Republican Congressional Candidate Wardell Raps Congressman Elect Billy Long for forgetting Veterans on Veterans Day

While 80,000+ Vets. that live in our district, celebrate the National Holiday in their Honor, and the United States Marine Corps also Celebrates its' 235 Birthday, Mr. Long is more interested in whether or not to wear his cowboy hat in D.C., Find a place to stay, and get his official pictures done.

Mr. Long seems to have already slid into his 'D.C.' mode and forgotten the men and woman Veterans that live in the 7th Congressional District. No letter, message or note, acknowledging the great sacrifices that have been made by those who chose to wear the Uniform of the United States Armed Forces.

So I will.

I wish you well on this National Holiday designed to remember your service to this Great Nation, and I thank you for it. For my fellow Marines, Happy 235th Birthday and Semper Fidelis
