Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff, two 13-year-old kids, decided to have a bake sale. The made cupcakes and Rice Krispie treats. They put $1 price tags on them. Things were going just fine until a member of the local government showed up.
Business killing city councilman. |
"I am shocked and sad for the boys. It was such a great idea, and they worked hard at it," said Laura Graff, Kevin's mother. "But then some Town Board member decided to get on his high horse and wreck their dreams."
So it happens everywhere. The quickest way to kill a small business, or any business in the United States is for the government to start pushing its heavy hand on the business owners. Whether it be a cupcake stand or a manufacturing business. The faces that kill aren't just on the federal level either. They are morons like this Micheal Wolfensohn guy who promotes this business killing crap where the government's hand has always got to be taking away from the producers.
By the way, this was a good lesson in capitalism for the boys. They invested $60 in their cupcake stand to make $120 ($60 in profit) and they would have made more if it wasn't for Michael Wolfensohn.
