The Washington Post has put together a What You Need to Know About Billy Long. They left out a few items of interest.
Long is a social and fiscal conservative who wants to repeal the 2010 health-care reform bill.
But Long likes a lot of what is in the healthcare bill.
"The economy is tied into the health care bill, because you have employers sitting around going, ‘We don’t know what we’re going to have to provide.’ So they’re afraid to hire people."
Of course, the economy went south long before this healthcare bill was passed. The second highest corporate tax rate in the world combined with tough government regulations sent companies packing long before the healthcare bill, and of course it trickles down to small business. While I am against the healthcare bill, the Federal Reserve devaluing currency has more to do with unemployment as well as the death of American industry through bureaucracies like the EPA. Long loves to use hot topic buttons of the day to capitalize on voter anger without understanding the issues.

Even before being sworn-in as Missouri's 7th district representative, Long began seeking interns for his 2012 reelection campaign, efforts rumored to be fueled in part by disgruntled Republicans seeking to oust Long in the next election cycle.
