We are in trouble when it comes to repealing Obamacare. I mean you have Congressman-elect Billy Long on video pointing out all the things he likes about Obamacare, and you have this dolt from Maryland begging for coverage and upset he has to wait a month before his government run coverage begins.
Like Billy Long, Maryland Congressman-elect ran on an anti Obamacare (repeal and replace platform). Yet, he's already whining that the federal government isn't covering him immediately. Geez! During freshman orientation benefits portion, the new Congressmen were told their health coverage wouldn't begin for another 28 days after their terms started. It was a Republican Andy Harris who was complaining the government wasn't taking care of his needs.
According to the Politico:
"He stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions why it had to take so long, what he would do without 28 days of health care," said a congressional staffer who saw the exchange. The benefits session, held behind closed doors, drew about 250 freshman members, staffers and family members to the Capitol Visitors Center auditorium late Monday morning,".
"Harris then asked if he could purchase insurance from the government to cover the gap," added the aide, who was struck by the similarity to Harris's request and the public option he denounced as a gateway to socialized medicine.
Good gravy? What would you do without health insurance for 28 days? Here's the kicker, Dr. Harris, an anesthesiologist, wants the government cheese. He doesn't want to pay for his own coverage. You see, now that he is a Congressman, he is entitled to healthcare.
With this kind of thinking, we are never going to get this bill repealed.
