Billy Long is a joke. He plays the victim card better than any liberal I have met in my life. I am insulted by his desire to suddenly compare his candidacy to the great Ronald Reagan. In a recent interview with another political lightweight, Sarah Steelman, Long talks about Reagan's shining city on the hill and he cites his inspiration.
As Billy Long cries about character assassination in the general election, it's Reagan's words I recall that Long broke in the primary. It seems Billy Long selectively chooses what parts of Reagan inspires him, while Steelman gives him a pass on breaking Reagan's 11th Commandment.
"Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."
I have spent a lifetime admiring Ronald Reagan, and Billy Long, you ain't no Ronald Reagan. Not even close.
While Steelman enables Billy Long's victim play, she fails to call Long on the fact that despite his Reagan inspiration, Long viciously attacked the characters of fellow Republicans Jack Goodman and Gary Nodler in the primary. Long went as far as lying about Goodman and Nodler's pro-life records and claiming he was the only pro-life choice in the primary, and yet Long cries over negative campaigning when it's used against him.
I just cringe when I hear Billy Long compare his candidacy to Ronald Reagan. I was attacks in the primary that proved Billy Long isn't worthy of a Reagan comparison.
