The TEA Party Compromised Throughout Missouri: Weak Tea Makes for Bad Government

From the St. Louis Beacon:

Tea Party groups around the state also take some credit for the victorious Republicans at the top of the Missouri ticket: most notably, Roy Blunt, who won election to the U.S. Senate, and Tom Schweich, who ousted state Auditor Susan Montee.

I can't help but ask why would any TEA Party group be proud of this accomplishment if it's truly the mission of the TEA Party to restore a Constitutional form of government. Seriously TEA Parties, you want credit for Roy Blunt's win?

If I was leading the TEA Party, I would want my name as far removed from Roy Blunt as possible. Sure, he might have been a better choice than Robin Carnahan, but what is that really saying? Blunt, he voted for the Patriot Act, voted yes on the bank bailouts, voted yes for Cash for Clunkers, and played a pivotal role over the last decade in the Republicans growing government and spending more. Sure it wasn't the size of Obama and Pelosi's agenda, but it still isn't worth giving instant forgiveness to without having any proof things are going to change.

Both the St. Louis TEA Party Coalition and the for-profit Tea Party Patriot HQ in Branson were quick to put a stamp of approval on Blunt's candidacy, the same candidacy that created controversy in the primary with Michele Bachmann endorsed Blunt over Chuck Purgason. I just have to ask Missouri TEA Parties why your credibility so little considering the St. Louis Beacon's article?

If you are going to compromise principle, what positives do you really expect to get in the return to Constitutional government?
