Get Ready for the War with Iran: Republican Lindsey Graham Ready to Neuter Iran

It would be nice if the United States actually fought wars to win the war. Over the past few years, I am not convinced. We fight wars to occupy, something I don't think our founding fathers would approve of as they fought against King George who did the same.

With Democrats claiming Obama needs a terrorist attack to save his presidency, Republican Lindsey Graham is ready to retaliate. Here's Graham speaking during the Halifax International Security Forum.

“My view of military force would be not to just neutralize their nuclear program, which are probably dispersed and hardened, but to sink their navy, destroy their air force and deliver a decisive blow to the Revolutionary Guard.

“In other words, neuter that regime,” added Graham.

Neuter them? Listen, I don't want a nuclear Iran just like you don't, but this idea of using the military for aggressive purposes just isn't what the Founders envisioned. The military was set up for defense, not aggression. There is this huge cost to the United States as we shift military focus from defense to aggression.

There was a time when we spoke out against countries that operated in this manner, and now we have become the same. Yet, I am torn, because I don't think a country like Iran can be trusted with nuclear weapons. It seems more practical to remove the threat through small covert operations than funding the industrial military complex once again.
