The Springfield News-Leader writes, Billy Long hopes to serve on Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Does anybody else who studied the issues in this 7th Congressional district race see the irony here?
Fed up of Washington Billy Long, who embraced the establishment and took lots of money from special interest wants to continue this charade that he isn't the establishment and won't be influenced by special interest groups. Long's real record beyond the fed up routine designed to pull in the Tea Party vote is more of the same. Long hasn't a clue how to reform government, because he sold out to the same forces that need reform. Good grief!
Then anti-earmark Billy Long, who doesn't see the value in the earmark to ensure our fuel taxes paid to Washington are returned to the district wants to sit on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee? Good grief again. With 17 cents on every gallon of gas going to Washington from our district, it's insane that Billy Long took a no earmark pledge to make sure this money is returned for infrastructure improvement for our roads. Now this dolt wants to serve on this committee while already attacking a key component in ensuring we can fund infrastructure improvements. Need I say more?
