New Boeing 787 Reports Smoke in the Cabin as it Makes Emergency Landing in Dallas

A new Boeing 787 on a test flight was forced to land in Dallas. A fire started in the electrical-equipment bay causing some of the planes flight controls not to work. The jet lost its primary flight displays and its auto-throttle.

The plane had been in flight for six hours without incident when suddenly they began noticing smoke in the back of the cabin. The pilot soon declared emergency while already on approach and landed the plane. The emergency slides were activated, but nobody was hurt.

The 787 is known as the Dreamliner.
