New Red Light Cameras Become More Intrusive and Collect More Data About Drivers

The next generation of red light camera features more intrusive technology that collects more date about you and your driving habits. The new cameras produce a 3-D image. It takes three images of the car when you speed or don't time the red light perfectly. It takes a picture of the car, the driver and passengers, and the license plate.

Once a violator is spotted, it records these three images. Then it scans a government data base to check your insurance status and whether or not your taxes are paid. Another revenue generating effort includes seat belt detection technology that takes pictures of people in the car and writes tickets for those no complying with seatbelt laws. Remember, these are sold as safety items in communities across the country, but they are nothing more than machines for the government to take more of your money.
