Timing of Springfield News-Leader Story Suggests Further Advertising Bias in Election
Scott Eckersley's campaign held a news conference on Monday morning. Cory De Vera and the Springfield News-Leader waits until the day after the election to tell voters there is a criminal investigation now surrounding Billy Long's campaign in regards to the e-mail that was sent last Friday to the local claiming Scott Eckersley quit the race. Obviously, the News-Leader's decision to hold the story until after the election seems like a bias in advantage for the candidate they endorsed and whose companies pay some big advertising dollars to the Springfield News-Leader. Why did the News-Leader hold the press conference story until after the election? Do they understand they continue to lose credibility with readers in these actions?
