Congressman Billy Long, Some Insight: Billy Long's Progression From Fed Up to Love of Washington Power Will Soon be on Display

Billy Long is now the Congressman, which also means he is the bum come next election. Southwest Missouri voters heard "fed up" and without giving much thought to looking much deeper, they picked Billy Long in the primary and then again in the general election. Now, he won't have the novelty of running on cute catch phrases and negative labels like career politicians in two years. He will be an incumbent, and all those little things Billy Long hid while crying he was a victim will soon be laid out for Southwest Missouri to observe.

On the surface Billy Long's fed up campaign sounded good. Long was fed up with everything I was fed up with. I noticed something quickly about Billy Long that changed quite rapidly from the first time I met him. His lust for power began to grow the closer he got to Roy Blunt.

Those who worked closely to Billy Long and saw the changes suddenly became uncomfortable with the changes they saw in Billy Long. Those closest to Long claim the changes occurred when he brought Jeff Roe and James Harris into the campaign. Long's good intentions soon became the hunger for power, and I would soon find out Billy Long would do anything for that power including lying and cheating. While those things may be discussed in political circles, the average person will give him a pass. They don't care that he used his iPhone to receive debate answers. They just heard he was fed up and so were they.

While this topic of Long's contradictions of being fed up has been dissected, from his donations to the same career politicians he claimed to be tired of, the most untold transition of fed up Billy Long into lover of DC power occurred when special interests started pouring money into his campaign. Like a good auctioneer, you can count on our vote in the 7th District to be sold to the highest bidder. Long said his small business skills would come in handy for the office. Did you think the district was going to benefit?

Yes, the man who posed as a political outsider in the primary began acting more like Roy Blunt come general election time. Nothing is more telling of that than a recent campaign contribution reported by but not analyzed by the Springfield News-Leader. While Billy Long was telling voters he was fed up of special interests, everything about DC, career politicians, and bad policies like the bailouts, he learned from Roy Blunt where to make the political big dollars. Southwest Missouri heard Billy say he was fed up, but all the while he was taking the big political money from companies like General Motors--that's right the same General Motors that owes taxpayers billions from the bailouts Long says he is fed up with.

To know Billy Long, you have to understand the man is a walking political lie who lacks any serious political gravitas as displayed in a series of interviews conducted by Sarah Steelman. He will tell the good people he is fed up of bailouts, but he will pad his pockets with political money that he will soon have to repay with a vote on the hill to the same company that was bailed out. Rather than demanding GM pay the bailouts back before making political contributions, Long did for himself and did the voters of Southwest Missouri a great disservice.
