How Much Money Did Billy Long, Scott Eckersley, and Kevin Craig Pay Per Vote?

Libertarian Kevin Craig has an interesting post on his blog about how much each Missouri 7 candidate paid per vote. Obviously, these numbers are going to be higher as Jeff Roe and James Harris now have their hands extended for their win bonuses. As of right now, here's how Kevin Craig breaks down the congressional race in terms of money spent.

Billy Long paid $7.13 per vote (remember he is the candidate who claimed he was fed up with wasteful spending)

In comparison, Long paid more than two times the amount Eckersley paid for to get a vote. Remember, Missouri 7 is a heavily populated Republican district, so consider that when you look at what Long spent.

Craig says Eckersley spent $3.01 per vote.

Craig himself calculates he spent .02 per vote. He says his only campaign costs was to get to the debates.

So what do we learn once again. Big money wins elections. What's that say about our elections? Shallow voters who vote on the political pathos of a campaign commercial that works like an audition for American Idol perhaps?

Maybe. Long definitely wasn't the most qualified. Darrell Moore, Gary Nodler and Jack goodman had the experience. Mike Moon was a solid follower of the Constituiton, and both Jeff Wisdom and Michael Wardell brought solid, original solutions to the debate. However, Billy Long had money. He had lots of money. His money covered up moments like these:
