Two Years Ago We Were Told the Republican Party Was Dead

While I have some disappointments tonight, I have to say what a difference two years makes. If you are conservative like me, two years ago was tough to stomach as Obama and the Democrats won big. What were we told? The Republican party was dead. It was reduced to a regional party of the South and nothing more.

Tonight, we see the Republican party was never dead. However, it will die if they don't return to Constitutional conservative roots. Republicans better look back to two and four years ago and realize why they lost power and what the loss of that power meant. If they don't return to the party of Reagan, they just might die two years from now.

My blog from two years ago tonight and don't think for a minute the climb has been reduced:

Steep Grade Ahead for Republicans

Once again, I am disappointed in the Republicans. I knew all along that John McCain wasn't the unifier our party needed. The taste he left in our mouths time in again was sour-flavors like RussFeingold, Ted Kennedy, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The hope that he introduced to Republicans now faces slander from the insiders that ran his campaign, and where is McCain defending Palin?

The Republican party needs to fix its identity as a conservative voice. Moderate Republicans like McCain prevent the party from achieving the success it achieved under Ronald Reagan and Newt Gingrich. Standing in the middle has never worked for Republicans, and it always winds up biting rabidly back. We need to stop trying to make friends with the media. Idiots like Keith Olbermann will never be our friend. When you try to hang out with losers like Olbermann and Chris Matthews, people label you a loser like Olbermann and Matthews.Republicans have become too worried with what these empty talking heads say, and they are empty. (Read the end of Obama's Electronic War for examples.)

There is a steep grade ahead of us. Dear Leader, Chairman Obama'svictory on Tuesday comes at a great price. There are three issues Republicans need to consider now that Democrats now have free reign over the Congress and the White House.

The first challenge Republicans face comes from the south. The demographics are changing. Once a Republican guarantee, northeasterners are now leaving states like Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York for the less taxes the southern states promise. The idiotic part of this is that they continue to vote for Democratic candidates that raise taxes. You people in the south need to thank these liberal escapees who now jeopardize your weekly paycheck, and the Republicans need to reestablish a grassroots effort to insure the south.

The second challenge is to embrace voters in California and New York. There are 86 electoral votes between the two of these states. That's just too many not to fight for. I am not convinced the state of California is ran by a bunch of left-wing loonies. San Francisco may be a loss, but the victory of Proposition 8 (banning same-sex marriage) in California proves there are still voters there that do care about the principles the Republican party stands for. Did you know the Republican party put no effort into these two states? California is the state of Reagan, let's return it to that great status. In doing so, let's not embrace left-wing environmental policies that threaten America's industry.

Finally, the greatest challenge that Republican face is Chairman Obama'samnesty vision. Obama and Biden support a policy that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.
Democrats will aggressively pursue the Hispanic vote in this country by whatever means possible. We have watched them do it to other minority groups, and the Hispanic vote could be the nail in our national-election coffin if we don't effectively govern and promote conservative ideas with our current Latino community.

Republicans forget they are the party that freed the slaves, founded the NAACP, created affirmative action (not what you see today), set up black colleges, pushed for black citizenship and voting rights, and passed every piece of civil rights legislation. It was the democrats who founded and joined the Ku Klux Klan, and Senator Robert Byrd, Democrat from West Virginia, once served proudly in the KKK. It was Democrats that labeled Martin Luther King and enemy and had his house bugged. Yet, Democrats win the black vote. The Democrat's socialist agenda of welfare has kept these people down and has established a voter base for the Democrats.

Yes, that is controversial to say. Ask yourself this. Jesse Jackson is a Democrat. Can you name one thing he has done to get blacks out of the current social situation? Can anyone tell me how one of these social programs have helped the black community as a whole succeed and move away from government aid? Of course not. Blacks have been taken advantage of to create a solid voting block for Democrats and now Democrats are coming after the Latino community.

Blacks aren't born liberals. Black communities have a solid foundation in God, and most of their churches don't spew the hate of Jeremiah Wright. Proposition 8 in California is proof of this. It was the black vote in California that is responsible for passing California's constitutional ban on gay marriage. Maybe it isn't too late to build on this in California and other black communities to let them know we are the party who stands for morality. It's time to begin a grassroots efforts to prevent the damage to the Latino community if the Democrats continue to play skin-color games. If we don't start working together now, 2010 and beyond may be bleak. That's not acceptable.

As I Go To Bed Tonight

As I go to bed tonight, I know change is coming. Not because of skin color; although, I predict race relations may intensify for many reasons-namely Jeremiah Wright's influence on Chairman Obama. I fear for the warnings that were out there for Americans to discover--warnings that the biased media failed to pursue.

Two days before the election, stories of Chairman Obama's plan to destroy the coal industry started to surface--a few weeks too late. Just this alone should question the hope that Americans must have seen in this fresh political lightweight. The coal industry is a vital part of economy, and bankrupting it through the redistribution of wealth will destroy not just the coal industry, but other businesses as well. It will drive up costs to light and heat your home.

Now that Democrats have control, you can count on the Fairness Doctrine coming back, and possibly affecting this very media that I present to you tonight. Suppressing opponents is something Chairman Obama has done quite well, and the Fairness Doctrine will suppress opposing political thought and dialog delivered by conservatives like Rush, Hannity, Levin, and Mike Church.

Democrats can now proceed to nationalize your 401K plan. They destroyed the stock market by driving down consumer confidence and forcing banks to lend money to people who couldn't afford to pay it back. Now, you are going to pay. Word is they want to seize 401K plans and pay out 3% on them. I would much rather pull mine out and put it in my own savings account or reinvest it based on something my sister told me today. She claims once they nationalize it, you won't be able to will it to your spouse or children.

I go to bed at night knowing not every American thinks like me, although I wish they did. I would think that energy costs, free speech, and acquiring wealth for retirement are all issues that would make Americans consider their vote more carefully, and time and again this election, Ispoke with people who weren't informed. They just thought it was cool they were voting for a rock star and being a part of an exciting crowd. I am afraid that the lack of education might have cost this country a great price tonight. I guess we will know more when it starts to play out in January.

I am going to enjoy the remaining days of the Bush presidency knowing he kept us safe, maintained a good economy until the Democrats took control of Congress, and upheld the Constitution. History will prove Bush right, and it will be our responsibility to make sure the history books record it that way. It too will be our responsibility after Bush to defend the Constitution at whatever cost. It's going to be attacked and has been attacked by the man who was elected tonight to protect it.

I never thought I would say this, but Hillary, I wish it was you who beat McCain.
